Come To The Cross

We played Casey Darnell’s “Come To The Cross” @ Brookwood Church

You can buy the song on iTunes Here

Insomnia & Me

I was diagnosed with insomnia in high school. I was working in a movie theater and staying out till very late, sometimes we wouldn’t screen a movie until 2 and 3am. I would get my popcorn, grab a huge soda, and sit in a theater and watch a movie. A majority of the time it was several of us, but on occassion we would each sit alone in a theater to make sure it ran well. I remember watching The Skulls at 3am, by myself, with a huge glass of Cherry Coke and popcorn…. That is when I knew I was not like everyone else.

I would go on church trips and I remember laying in bed, eyes open, unable to sleep. I would stare at the clock, which is what most insomniacs complain about, I also would watch smoke detectors blinking on and off…

My mom saw there was an issue, so I went to the doctor and got put on meds. There was about a 15 minute window before I feel asleep wherever I was once I was on the meds. That helped for quite a bit, but the meds had a side effect that would wake me up after a few hours and keep me awake the rest of the night.

I’ve always enjoyed sleep, but always had a hard time getting to sleep.

What do you do to help you go to sleep? I’ve always been a night owl, and sometimes struggle to get to sleep. I had more to talk about with this but TOTALLY blanked out on it!

#headsortails Twitter Game

Heads or Tails
Today, I flipped my coin in my car on whether or not to go to the gym. I was wanting to go home and chill, but saw the half dollar on my floorboard(keep it to practice coin rolling @ stoplights), and flipped. I got heads, so I went to the gym.
I have some friends, @justcallmee and @jayhyles, who also do something very interesting and fun with a coin toss. They flip a coin and let the coin decide whether or not they go left or right. They do it into the wee hours of the morning to see where they end up!

So, how can you get involved?

Get a coin. I prefer half dollars. Keep it with you in your pocket all the time.
Anytime you see yourself with a tough decision, go to the coin.
Tweet out the question, and the outcome with the hashtag #headsortails. (I know it’s a long hashtag, if you have a better idea lemme know so we can get this game rolling)

DO NOT…. let this determine whether or not eat, cheat, lie, steal, kill, suicide, etc.
This is meant to be for fun and nothing more.

To follow this event and see what other folks are doing, simply click the #headsortails hashtag on twitter and see what all folks have let a coin decide.

I want to get this thing rolling, so Re-tweet, digg, stumble-upon, and all that jazz to get this game rolling.

Daze Go By

Well, I have had a cold for a couple of days, but it has all blurred into one day of sleeping and waking up to eat. I’m a believer that if you get sick to take the time off, rest, and get better much faster.

Anywho, during this sleeping and all that jazz, I’ve realized something that I’ve realized for awhile. I love video games and gaming, but part of me is getting bored with them. It’s not that it robs me of time, or keeps me from doing other things, but they are just getting to be the same ole thing. Now when doped up on meds, I can easily sit and play the games, but I think my focus on them is over.

I think I feel like there are too many other things to do so I can’t waist my time on them. If that’s a blog, working on music, reading, exercising, spending time with my wife, etc. I’m not done with video games, but they are becoming far less interesting to me at this time in my life.

I just find that funny. So, maybe my time away from them will produce more blogs, more pictures, more stories, more songs, more life.
I will still game on occasion and if you are a gamer make sure to add me on PS3: boomerang82.

Also, if a guy can be stranded on an island, or in the woods, and just eat the bare minimum, what keeps me from eating that? I know they don’t have the same amount of energy, but it makes me wonder what is the minimum amount of calories I can function well within a day is. Not to lose weight, just curious as to why I have the desire to eat so much food, and what I could do without and still function the same.

Just my thoughts from being in a daze for over 24 hours.

Kittens Cam International News

Grazia Magazine
The kittens cam got featured in a UK magazine Grazia, where a BBC show host Lauren Lavern put it on her “Must List”
Pretty amazing stuff! It looks like a magazine similar to our entertainment weekly mixed with some fashion magazines.

Also, if you missed the kitten hand off video from youtube, here it is:

Sushi Bar Solution

This video was made by a couple guys trying to figure out how to set up the cameras to get some footage of a sushi bar. They decided to take their hands out of the equation and let the camera go on it’s on journey.

This just makes me think how sometimes we search for ways to be creative and the most obvious solution is right in front of us. Maybe it’s not even about creativity but just about getting our job done. Either way, what if the solution is so simple, already made, and right in front of you. I love being creative and try to find new ways to do so everyday, but this video made me think of when I might have missed an opportunity to catch something really unique.

So what thing are you trying to figure out how to do best or just trying to get done? Pause, for just a bit, and see if the solution isn’t already right in front of you.

This video may mean something totally different to you, but to me that’s what I took from it. Curious to see if it brings up any other thoughts in other folks.

So for me, I’m obviously trying to do something I can’t figure out how to do, and maybe the solution is in front of me? Hopefully it’s a free easy way like this track running around a sushi bar, but I’m guessing it will cost me a few bones in the end.

I’m thinking about taking my camera and putting it on the track at Krispy Kreme….

This starts off slow but rolls into my very own style of this song. Hope you enjoy, and let me know what you think!

Make sure you watch till the end so you see why “I hope you don’t have to wear lipstick this Christmas” – This of course, is directed to guys.

To use this nifty little site go over to XtraNormal.Com to create an account and make some free videos.

I think this is fun if you are interested in doing a little more creative stuff with making videos. It gives you camera angle options, sounds, facial expressions, surroundings, where your looking, etc. Pretty endless to what you want to do, but I would recommend keeping it short!
